Welcome to the home of Fáilte Pafos, the website for the Irish community in Paphos, Cyprus. Fáilte Pafos is a group dedicated to keeping the culture and traditions of Ireland alive in the Irish Expatriate community. We organise events and gatherings throughout the year with our main event each year being the annual St Patrick’s Day Celebration in Paphos under the patronage of the Irish Ambassador.
Thank you to everyone who turned out for the Midsummer Hooley at the Village Inn. It was certainly a ‘Hot Night’ all round. Good Music, God Food & Good Company we will let the pictures tell the story. There are more pictures on our Facebook page courtesy of Jay.

Everything is ready to go for tomorrow nights (Saturday) Midsummer Hooley at the Village Inn at Kissonerga. There are still a small number of tickets available but the take up has been good this week and we are looking at a good sizes crowd on the night. If you want a last minute ticket get along to the Village Inn where you can buy them at the bar.
If this is your first outing to the Village Inn take a look at the map on the events page to see where you are going. If you have been there before be warned there are roadworks with diversions both sides of the Pub. Coming straight up into Kissonerga from the coast road or down from Tala seem to be the best ways.
Here’s looking forward to another great night!
We hope you can join us for the Fáilte Pafos Mid Summer Hooley on Saturday June 19th at 7pm at the Village Inn, Kissonerga. There will be a glass of punch on arrival, a fine BBQ with 6oz Home made Steak Burger* topped with onions, BBQ Chicken and a baked potato plus a full salad bar. We will have some Live Music guaranteed to get the feet tapping and create the right atmosphere with some great Irish Music. Continuing our policy of affordability for our events, all this will cost just €15 per ticket.
Marjorie and Sean at the Village Inn are our host’s once again so you can be sure the food and service will be to the usual high standard.
We will as usual be supporting local organisations and charities at this event. There will be a draw with some great prizes organised by and in aid of our friends at the Atromitos Badminton Club, money raised goes towards the youth development of the sport in Paphos. The profits from the event will go to The Cyprus Kidney Association and The St Michael’s Hospice. So come along and have a great night out and support this event.
Tickets available from the Village Inn, Kissonerga. Tel: 26 941 357
*For vegetarians there will be the option of a vegetarian burger but it must be pre-ordered. Tell them when you book your ticket.
Our fevered ponderings over a few(?) glasses of Guinness is now over and we are pleased to announce that our next event will be a Midsummer Hooley on the 19th June (well it’s close) at the village Inn, Kissonerga. We are looking forward to a great night with a BBQ and live music, not to mention of course that essential ingredient a large sprinkling of pure Irish Craic.
So put it in your diary and be ready to grab a ticket when they go on sale shortly. Don’t be disappointed book early. We are still putting the final details in place, so check out the event page early next week for all the details, or keep an eye on our Facebook page.
The dust has settled on this years St. Patrick’s celebrations and after all the intense activity prior to the event all seems very quiet. St Patrick’s is our biggest event of the year and this year it certainly went with a bang. It is good to hear people still talking about it 2 weeks after the event.
So what now? is the question on more than a few peoples lips. Things may seem to have gone quiet but there is a lot going on in the Background. You may have noticed a new look to the website, we have moved to a more stable server and took the opportunity to make a few changes while we were making the move.
All I can say about our next event is that it will most likely be late May/early June, a BBQ with music. We are still in the planning stages and will let you know as soon as we have more definite details.
We have had some good news too, Fitzgerald Estates in Paphos have stated they will be one of the sponsors for the next St Patrick’s event in 2011. Thank you Daryl, we appreciate your support.
